Hi guys,
Bit of a an odd one, our house went on fire just before the end of the year due to negligent insulation company who didn't put a protective caps over the light fixtures which in turn caused our roof to catch fire. Since then we have been living in temporary accomdation. The house is filled with rubble and sections of insulation that didn't catch fire.
My husband had to gain access to a door to get some items but had to push the rubble and insulation out of the way and in doing so his ring came off. We hired a metal detector (c.scope CS440XD) but we discovered that it wasn't very strong and when we tried to use it on my wedding band it didn't make any sound. We've spent about 5 hours rummaging through it all and as you can imagine, it's quite disheartening. It's a small section but the material is quite dense which makes it difficult.
We're looking for any kind of help, recommendations, tips or tricks.
We don't want to give up just yet!
We're based in Dublin! Thanks so much in advance,
Orla & Sam

Hey, sorry to hear about your troubles. Unfortunately a metal detector will be of little use in a house. There is some much other metal around everywhere it would be extremely hard to find the right signal regardless of which detector you use. Your best bet would be to use a small pinpointer if the area is very small as this will pick up metal close to the surface, however it will also pick up all the nails and screws as well. What I'm trying to say is that it will be really difficult. Which part of Dublin are you in?

Hi orlak
I have sent you a private message with contact details, if you want to chat, Dave2 is right about the difficulty in searching inside a house where other metals are present , on the other hand there is nothing lost in looking,
best of luck Zerovis
