Good morning all๐. My wedding and engagement rings have been somewhere in our front garden for a few years now. I bought a metal detector and have tried so often to find them. I've dug a million little holes (following the detectors lead), but nothing ever shows up๐ . We will be moving house at some point and I'm so worried that I will never find the rings. We are in Kinvara. I would be so grateful if anyone could help ๐

Too far for me also but I'm sure there'll be a member who lives in the area who will give it a go. If we were ever visiting in the area (my wife has a good friend living in Kinvara) I'd bring along my detector. No plans though. Best of luck.

Iโm about 2.5 hours away according to google and if fuel prices werenโt the way they are Iโd nearly be tempted to do a day trip! You probably are getting a lot of false signals with that Garrett. I would drop your sensitivity to half or less and swing low and slow. Hopefully they arenโt more than 3โ down yet. Best of luck with your search!

How big is the garden and when are you planning on moving? Forgive the obvious question, but are you sure they are lost in the garden. The amount of people that think they lost something somewhere, only to find it somewhere completely different after hours of detecting.

I'm assuming the rings will have moved from the original spot due to lawn mowing etc ๐ฅ. I deffo know they got lost there. They were not visible in the longish grass by the time I realised ๐

Any luck with those rings or are you still hoping some detecting guru will stop by to find them??

Gave this my best shot today. Area is only around 10m x 8m. A lot of iron and a lot of trash. Gave it around 2.5 hours and dug up at least 30 signals, went over the area every angle possible but no luck with the rings. There isn't much depth of soil in this garden. Just under the sod there seems to be a layer of hard-core. Using a Garrett 400 so if anyone with a better detector wants to give it a go.

I can't thank The Bull McCabe enough for his help the other day. Not only did he work tirelessly for 2.5 hours, but he did so in, at times, TORRENTIAL rain!! He was so helpful and patient. I got a crash-course in some of the basics in metal-detecting. It's such an interesting science. He was able to clear a lot of junk from the front garden. Fascinating to watch how precisely the garrette 450 and the mini detector can work together. The rings are still out there somewhere, waiting to be found ๐. Some day... Thanks Bull ๐๐ค

Hi All, another call out to see if anyone might be able to help ๐ Hoping someone else might see this thread and give these rings one last chance to be found. We are moving to new home and are handing over the keys where the rings are around the 12th, so I'm running out of time. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

I'm heading to Galway on the 25th but that's probably a little too late if you are moving out on the 11th.
