Hello. My mother based in Kilkenny hid three pieces of gold jewellery together in her house for safekeeping some time ago but cannot recall where and consequently can't locate them now despite best efforts. Willing to pay competitive daily/hourly rate for detection and/or generous reward if successful. Please PM me if you may be able to assist Thanks in advance.

Hello! Happy to help but more than two hours to drive! You think it can be in garden? How big area to detect?

Hi Jugins. Thanks for reply. The jewellery was hidden inside the house, perhaps a closet or cupboard. It's a 4 bed bungalow. Not sure if this is possible with pipework and cabling? Many thanks, A.

It would take a lot of luck but some things can be obvious to inquisitive minds... new eyes. I have come across a few people who bought houses after the deceased owners family sold it. They have found money and other items hidden in places you would think others may have checked but did not.

My brother bought a 1920s house in north belfast about ten years ago and while cleaning the fire place found a cracking ww2 german dagger hidden just up the chimney.

furthest toilet bathroom area or just inside attic space could be worth a try. If she’s a gardener, maybe ‘her familiar storage area’.

If it was me I would check if it was a man or a women who did the hiding. Women don't tend to hide things in places that are difficult to access again. Men on the other hand will tend to be over clever and put things in places that might be a little hard to get back to. I am sure most are aware over the years farmers hide stuff on the land or out buildings. Some of you might remember the person looking for help here about stuff hidden in the garden. Years ago a lot of people did not trust banks and even now years and years later the banks cannot find peoples possessions that were left with the bank for safe keeping. Take it from me there are a lot of people who will never have the original deeds to their home or land returned to them from banks.

Kilkenny but as one of our members pointed out, with copper pipes and oodles of electrical cables zig-zagging on every floor or ceiling, along with brass screws and all sorts of metallic fixings, it could take weeks to cover every place. If it's a fairly big house it would be nigh on impossible. Presses, wardrobes, drawers, bath panels, attics, back kitchens, outside sheds, etc ...could be anywhere. If it was something lost in grass or garden area it would be no problem to try but too many obstacles indoors. Sorry.
