Hello, I’m (probably one of many) hoping your group can help.
I lost a wedding band on Garyvoe beach in Cork yesterday. It’s in a fairly small area. I tried a friend’s metal detector but it couldn’t hardly pick up a ring if I was looking at it. I’m happy to pay for any help your group might be able to offer. Many thanks, Bryan 0894219990

Hi Bryan L I am sure you will get some help here , in the meantime you should set up an account , its not a good idea to give out personal details on an open forum, so most here use the private message which is not available to guests, all the best

Doc is a magician.
I think he had the ring in his pocket and just produced it from fresh air

Doc called me early this morning and arranged to meet at low tide. I got there on time and he was there before me. It was 2 degrees and grey.
He gave an immediate sense of a man ready for the challenge this day was going to give. A ready smile and a few questions on where I reckoned I had been during a 15 minute swim.
With the tide fully out the task seemed beyond hope.
But Doc was far from hopeless, he tuned his kit, asked me to lay down a marker and went about it. Steady sweeps across the sand, dragging a heel to leave a mark or an overturned shovelful to mark the end of strip. An early solid mark, but nothing, every signal investigated. On and on, he worked down to the waters edge. Nothing. Then the shore side of my mark. On and on and nothing. Now 90 minutes in.
We chat for a bit and he asks me to leave him at it as I’m only a distraction from a task he’s set himself to help a stranger and hone his own craft. I can see he’s accepted the challenge with relish.
I mention I swung to the right of a heap of stones on my way out of the water.
He changes his tack and attacks another way with this information.
10 minutes more he calls me over and asks me what’s on his shovel?
A white gold wedding band I engraved myself less than 2 years ago. !!!!!!!!!!

It was amazing.
Us civilians just lose things.
You guys are used to finding stuff, I sent a contact through the page here, and yourself Frank told me to make a post.
I post here at 7PM on a Sunday and at lunchtime Monday I'm holding the ring in my hand.
That's some serious result.
(how do I post pictures here?)
