Hi guys I was contacted by a friend who said a friend of his had lost a very precious item on Ballycroneen beach(East Cork) a few weeks back. It’s a US military Dogtag WW1 or WW2 which belonged to his grandfather (or something like that). Apparently he knows the general location of the item but he only sent me a short text to say he was out of the country for a few days(lucky fecker) and didn’t share any more details. I might head there tomorrow for a couple hours, it’s not a huge beach so I might get lucky… But if anyone else is around in the coming days?? Also it may have already been picked up!! After tomorrow (Tuesday) it’ll be the weekend before I’ll be free again if anyone wants to meet up for a group hunt?? Cheers Detechnician

good luck with the search , if you can get your friend to send you a drop pin on google maps , that will get you within a couple of meters of where he thinks it is,

Ya I’ve already suggested that but he hasn’t replied. I don’t know the guy so I’ll wait for him to get back to me before contacting him again.

Hi digthattone He still hasn’t got back to me. I went down last Tuesday but I had no clue where to look so spent some time on the dry sand and some time on the wet but no joy. I was talking to my buddy who knows him and said he thinks he lost it in water at high tide so need to go at low tide but I don’t know what area.. The right side of the beach was clean but the left side was covered in seaweed. I’m not familiar with this beach but looked well sanded in, could do with a bit of a storm maybe.. Anyway I might head down Friday morning but low tide is just after 8 so I’m not sure I’ll be there for that! 😬😴

Hi. The dogtag has been found? Hi The guy never got back to me. I went down there for a couple hours one day but not knowing approximately where to look it was like looking for the needle in a haystack..

Not much point in anybody searching until we know the status -> found or not?
This post will be closed if we don't get an update!
