Hi all, A friend lost a ring in Wexford a few years ago and mentioned to me that someone from this site was able to help him out and miraculously managed to find it. Unfortunately the same thing has now happened to me, a wedding ring safely put into a shoe while I went swimming at White Rock beach in Dublin has gone missing. It definitely wasn't stolen as someone was with the shoes/bag all the time but neither myself or my wife were able to find it despite combing the sand and it can't have been missing in more than a 10 meter squared area. I must have forgotten about it and when putting the shoe back on out it fell. It is paladium (so silver colour) and no bevelling on it. The inside reads 13-07-2018 and I lost it a few meters from the left hand side of the changing shelter as you face towards the Dart line and away from the sea...below is a picture of roughly where it must be (strangers blocked out incase anyone wondering why those white boxes are there). It should be somewhere in the few meters from where the photo is taken. This is a real shot to nothing but if anyone was able to help I would be incredibly grateful. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

jezz zerovis it's looking like your going to be a living legend .... well done again.
To the owners of the lost items: treasured memories are impossible to replace without help from people like our members. If our guys (and gals) are lucky enough to find your lost item, we would be most grateful if you could pass on the news of your good fortune and how it was achieved to your local TD and ask them to support the Irish Metal Detecting Society and of course our great hobby.
One good turn deserves another as they say, and we look forward to continuing to help people retrieve lost items into the future.

Thanks Frank , I will settle for living, the walk back up the steps nearly killed me , its definitely not level access that beach is a bit like Killiney ,plenty of small aluminum bits pretending to be something good.
Just luck , had the day off ,

Just luck , had the day off , Haha sorry about that, I think some of the locals approach the place by yacht to save the climb up and down. 😉 I can't thank you enough again, you're an absolute legend. I'm amazed at the legal status of metal detecting, I only just looked into it in the last 24 hours. I'll certainly send my local TDs an email.

Its great you have the ring back I will be posting a sample letter later a few people have asked to show them a sample. We want to let the politicians know we are still open for meaningful talks. Most of our previous meetings with the NMI seem to fall on deaf ears some voters might help them change their mindset.
