Hi all, Im hoping you might be able to help me with this. My husband lost his wedding ring on his walk home from work just before midday yesterday Thursday 4th February 2021. It is palladium, silver in colour with a bevelled edge, it holds great sentimental value and he really is devastated. He is a frontline worker in Beacon hospital and had just left his stint in the vaccination clinic. We have gone over the area (not with detector) about 10 times now and spent hours searching & putting up posters last night.
Is anyone able to help me out? We would be unbelievably grateful.
Thanks a million, Wendy
***Lost Wedding Ring*** Thursday 4th February 2021, Male wedding ring was lost while walking between the Maxol Garage on Sandyford Road, Dublin 16 and the Entrance to Aikenβs Village in Stepaside, Dublin 18 at approx 11am. It is a large palladium plain wedding band with a bevelled edge, silver in colour.

Sorry to hear about the lost ring. I don t really know the area, but I had a look at it on google earth. It looks like the distance is about 1 km, and to cover that area will take quite some time and an awful lot of luck to find it. I assume this was on the grass/path? I d love to give you a hand (as its sentimental) but I personally think it s gonna be very difficult to find. I am however more than 5 km outside of the area, so I am not able to until the lockdown is lifted. (Walking around at the side of the road with a metal detector will probably draw a bit of attention) and if there are electrical cables etc buried in the ground for lights etc then its litterarely impossible to find as detectors are affected by electrical cables. Sorry I can t be of more help, but it does sound like its gonna be very difficult to find.

Hi , I am in the same boat as Norwaydigger, once the restrictions lift though I am sure we can arrange to meet up and search , over that distance a small group would be a good start

Did you try searching with a torch? It just might be worth a try. The reflection of the ring on the grass may show up. Best done just at dusk.

Paulie, thanks so much! We had a very kind man come with his detector earlier today, sadly after 2 hours of searching there is still no sign. With the current restrictions we feel weβve really given it our best shot so hoping the posters/social media/St Anthony will reunite us if someone has picked it up. π€π Will keep you all posted, really appreciate all of your advice & offers to help π

Update: A passerby found my husbands ring & by word of mouth & social media we are delighted to say that we got it back! Thanks so much for all the offers to help us search. The ring had been picked up and placed on top of a wall and the finder spotted it. Thanks again π
