Looks like a golden opportunity to support some couple and have some welcome publicity. There’s bound to be some of our lads down that way. Unfortunately I’m up in Meath and it’s a long ways to you but I’ll keep that area in mind if I’m down that neck of the woods.

well I arrived on location at 1.30 and having been shown the area to search I must admit to being a little apprehensive.Ring was lost last October or November. The grass was very thick and very high in other places. So as I began to search the owner of the ring began strimming where she felt she had walked the last day she had the ring.Well I walked the full length then back up then back down searching the areas freshly strimmed.I also had heavy wire fencing very close on my left side the whole time.So I was beginning to loose faith as I reached my third length.Pondering what to do I decided to switch to the all gold programme on the equinox 800 thinking that it might help discriminate the fencing. The first 2 or 3 steps I had a signal but the pointer couldn't find anything on the surface so I said Id leave it and continue as I felt it would surely be still under the 6 inches of heavy grass but not underground..literally 2 more step and a strong signal measuring 15 steady gave me a good feeling.the pointer finally started beeping mad under all that grass.Hubby was over and began pulling away grass then I saw it under the pointer. My first ever gold find was in my hands for 3 seconds then handed over to a beaming couple who were literally shocked that I found it.I couldn't have been happier.what a fantastic feeling to do such a good turn and in the process find my first gold.I refused any kind of reward as I loved what I achieved and the happiness I managed to pass on.They were also a lovely very friendly couple and their coffee cake was beautiful.A happy day for all...
