I'm doing some research on Metal Detecting in Ireland and I'm curious if there has ever been a printed newsletter/journal for metal detecting groups in Ireland?

We rely a lot on our good friends in the uk for updated news on the hobby.
The Searcher metal detecting magazine and a few others print our members stories if appropriate. Sad to say this without feeling we are living in a backward Country. Unfortunately promoting of our hobby is frowned upon by the state. A lot of dangers for the media come down to how they describe our hobby and the words they use and their presumptuous personal thoughts about the things we search for. There was an attempt to ban some uk magazines in Ireland years ago. The answer to your question is we have no specific printed newsletter/journals for metal detecting groups in Ireland.
